Ben G celebrates their anniversary in style with a very special Nike SB collaboration. Originally previewed towards the end of September, the Ben G x Nike SB Blazer Hi Premium honors of the 5th Anniversary of the Amsterdam-based sneaker boutique. The shop owner, Mr. Ben G, drew inspiration from a popular candy egg from the 70′s for the theme and color inspiration behind his design.

Yesterday I picked up my pair @ Frisco (skateshop) in Arnhem.
I still remember back in the day when my mom brought me an chocolate egg when she came back from groceries shopping. Honestly I couldn't resist buying an egg after copping my pair yesterday. I love the concept behind the shoe and I believe it's a good thing to support something local. Congrats on the 5th year Anniversary!

Hey you!
It's been a while since I a posted a blog entry, but as you can see i'm still alive and kicking. Busy living is the reason for my absence.
In the meanwhile I already lost 32 kg, so a little applause would be appropriate.

Last night we went to a german fair not far from where we life. It's a huge fair and well known in our region, but for some reason we never checked it out ourselfs.

One thing the germans do on these fairs is drink beer and eat lots of food.
I have never in my life seen so much food stands aslast night, it's almost abnormal. We didn't eat before we went to the fair so the stands came in handy, but picking what you were going to eat was a bit difficult with all those choices. All together it was a nice evening and not needless to say I won a bottle of cheap wine with throwing rings.

I have been listening to the new Aloe Blacc album ''Good things'' for a couple of days now, and so far I'm pleased with it. Blacc has been making music for over a decade now, but most people didn't know about him till they heard is single '' I need a dollar''. Earlier work has been a little more experimental, but his latest work is more focused on soul and therefor has a more broad appeal. I decided to share a song of the album with you. The sound of the album gives me a retro feeling and that's in most cases a good thing.

Last night me and the crew went to see ''Machete'' a film by Robert rodriguez. A film that actually started as a fake trailer and later became a real movie because of all the buzz around the fake promo. Starring Danny trejo in his first leading role as ''Machete'' a former Mexican cop turned renegade. Like ''Planet terror'' and ''Death proof'' Rodriguez continues with the B-movie and Grindhouse style for this one. You either like this style of filming or you hate it, I like it. It's raw, over-the-top violence, unreasonable nudity and all in a 70'style movie.
The film delivers everything that was promised in the fake trailer.
I enjoyed the film and my popcorn.

Forgot to mention that I went to see Krs-one perform @ Luxor live on Tuesday.
He's one of those mc's that still knows how to bring a good show, I was impressed. As total suprise he brought Supernaturel along on his tour, that's what made the evening even better.
This show has easily entered my top 5 of best shows i've seen. As you can see I unds-ed my Id's, and me like!

Normally you pay around € 190,00 a pair, but thanks to mistake made by Nike I paid only € 45,00. I'm pleased with the result and the quality of this pair.

Nike continues to bring back orginal colorways of the Nike air max 90.
Besides the infrared this is for me the most memorable colorway of the 90 when it comes to memories of back in the day. Orginally a womens colorway, but also very popular with men. First retroed in 2005 and now coming back for another release in october 2010. You can pre-order your pair right now. Thinking about getting me a pair for old time sake.

Patta’s latest collaborative project is a team-up with Canada’s Reigning Champ, the in-house brand of the CYC Design factory known for great design, fit and quality sweaters, hoodies, fleeces and shirts. Patta and Reigning Champ have created a set of heavyweight Canadian fleece garments, which consists of a custom zip hood jacket and fleece
sweatpants.

The jacket features subtle details such as thermal lining, button overlay and detachable split zip hood, while the sweatpants feature adjustable draw cord waist and bottom cuffs and side pockets/back welt pocket with zip closure. Both garments feature military-inspired cross-brand labeling. 2 colorways in all: dark navy and heather grey.

The sets are limited to 75 pieces per color worldwide and scheduled to release at Patta on Saturday September 4th with a retailprice of 250,00 euro per set.

Other selected retailers including 24Kilates, Colette, Foot Patrol, Hanon, Norse and Soto will have the set available as well on Saturday September 11th.

Well it's been a while since I blogged.
No reason for my absence, just working, working out and busy living.
I already lost 25 kg since a small lifestyle change in the beginning of april.
Don't worry we still go out for dinners and have some fastfood once in a while, it's about making choices. So far it's going great and the work-out's and the lost of weight gives you alot of (new) energy, I'm bouncing of the couch figurly speaking. It takes alot of discipline and believe, it's still along road ahead. My goal is not only losing weight, but it's also a search for contentment in life.

All this new found energy makes life a little easier and I realise that positive living makes you enjoy the things you love more intense. Don't be afraid for change, choose life. It's all you got!

Last weekend I went to the movies with a friend of mine to see ''Inception''.
I was patiently waiting for the new Christopher Nolan film to come out, because i'm a fan of Nolan's work. First of you really have to see ''Inception'' even if you were not planning to see it. The film kept wandering in my mind till the next day and honestly it still does a bit. The story revolves around dreams and stealing ideas from peoples minds and implanting it in others. It's a very interesting concept. Go see it, the end will give your brain a work-out.

A little update on my diet progress .
I lost exectly 17 kg in twelve weeks by eating healthy with help from a foodplan and going to the gym four times a week. It's still a long way to go, but I've already achieved alot. I'm today's champ!

Since the summer arrived and the sun started doing it's job, an ant family arrived at our doorstep as well. They decided to come in from under our new floor and terrorize our feet. My wife bought ant traps (in shape of flowers, how lovely), our living room is like a mine field of ant traps. Luckily we have traps that look like flowers. It makes our war a little bearable.

Last friday me and two friends went to see ''The A-team'' movie as I already blogged about last week. We already knew that after the credits there's an extra scene with Dirk benedict and Dwight schultz, you might know them as ''Face'' and ''Murdoch'' from the eighties orginal show.

So we stayed and watched all the credits waiting for the extra scene. We were the only ones staying for the scene. I saw a member of the staff standing at the door, waiting for us to leave the theater.

All of sudden at the end of the credits they cut the movie off and the screen turned black. They just stopped the movie while we were watching and we didn't get to see the extra scene.

I really don't mind that we didn't see the scene, but it's part of the movie and I'm a paying customer. So I decided to send a little complaint by e-mail, still waiting for an answer.

Finally I got my hands on a pair of livestrong air forces.

Digging into the archives, this release has a comparable feel to the Nike x UNDFTD Air Force 1 from 2006. Today, this shoe incorporates the black and yellow pallet of colors which are so well associated with LIVESTRONG and the fight against cancer. More notable design assets referring back to the previous launch include the ‘Shemagh’ textile used on the front half of the sneaker as well as the ‘ONYABIKEKID’ slogan, which replaces the ‘ONYAFEETKID’, a theme that refers to the origin of UNDFTD.

The sentiment and meaning of this AF1 runs deeper for Eddie Cruz, whom recently suffered a serious personal illness. Excited as I was I started checking the shoe like I always do.
I noticed that something wasn't right.
Pictures speak louder than words.

First how it should be..

That's what you call a misprint.
Instead of saying ''Be True'' it says ''Be Be''.
I don't mind, because you don't see the misprint with wearing and in a way I have a unique pair of air forces.
I contacted the store and they gave me free shipping for the next purchase I make.
Still i'm very stoked about this latest pick-up.

I have two new pick-ups to show you..
First of is the Nike air max 1 supreme ''Kabutomushi'' from the tech pack 1.
It's also called the bug pack, because Kabutomushi is some kind of Japanese beetle.
The colorscheme is crazy, but the colors fit together in my opinion.
The air max 1 model is classic, but this colorway is one to love or one to hate.

Second pair I bought under retailprice, so i'm glad I waited a couple of months.
It's the Nike air force 1 Hi ''Futura'', ofcourse designed by Futura himself.
Great quality premium leather on a very detailed and well designed shoe.

I already recieved the tech packs and the futura's are heading my way.
Two great pick-ups in my opinion..

Yesterday my car was running low on fuel so I drove to the nearest gasstation for some gas.
As I was standing next to my car filling it with gas my mind went wandering. All of a sudden a dude I knew from school, who had just payed for gas, came up to me for a little talk. We talked shortly and then I got in my car and drove away.

I had to pick something up so I took the highway for some speed. As I was listening to my music in my car all of a sudden it stroke me like lightning, ''I haven't paid for gas!''. I realized that the combination of a wandering mind and talking to someone made me fill up my car with gas and then I just drove off without paying.
I had to get back to the gasstation A.S.A.P! Alot of things where going through my mind how I would explain this dumb misstep.

Luckily no cops where at the scene when I arrived at the station (LOL). I had to explain the whole thing to the lady behind the cash register with deep shame. She was very understanding and glad that I was honest enough to come back and pay.

Sometimes cats want to say thanks by bringing something from outside in your house.

Today our cat wanted to say thanks by bringing wild life in our home.
She caught a little mouse and with all her glory she came through the catdoor with the little creature. My wife saw her first, lol, and by the noice she made I knew something was wrong. When she fled upstairs it was all in my hands. Armed with a broom I had to safe the little mouse from the two predators. You already know how the story ends, I saved the little sucker and became the hero of the day. Always nice to get presents..

I was glad to hear that Christoph Waltz won the oscar for ''Best Actor in a Supporting Role'' for his role as Nazi colonel Hans Landa in The Inglorious basterds. He deserves every bit of that oscar, in my opinion the best acting performance of 2009. Congrats!

My female german dentist pulled me a tooth on tuesday.
Afterwards she looked at me with sadness in her eyes when we took a closer look at the homeless tooth. It made me feel a bit like I was putting my pet to sleep.
Germans can be very sensitive.

I spend some B-day cash on new kicks, what else?
It's been a while since I picked up a pair of Air force 1's.
A couple of years back I wouldn't buy anything other then this model.
We all go through different fases in life and also when it comes to buying kicks.
I've been through alot of different (Nike) fases, SB fase, Jordan fase, Uptown fase and lately I've been more in to runners. I even bought me a pair of Adidas a while back, do you smell crisis 2? I'm glad with my crispy clean pick-up, it's the Un-Michael Lau Nike air force 1 low btw..

I celebrated my 32th birthday on saturday with fam & friends, thanks for all the
congratulations messages, emails & presents! Also they decided to let our government fall on my birthday, maybe because they didn't know what present to buy!?

One of my unwrapped gifts was the new album from Jose James ''Black magic''.

They gave out some grammy's a couple of hours ago.
As a big F.E. fan it's a shame I didn't hear anything on the news about the nominated dutchman Nicolay, one half of The Foreign exchange.

The Foreign Exchange's "Daykeeper" (feat. Muhsinah) was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Urban/Alternative Performance category. They didn't get the well deserved grammy.

Congrats to them for the nomination!

When I take a shower I usually listen to some music that I have carefully chosen from my absurd record collection. My wife has been on drugs for days, (painkillers, because of a bad toothache) so I chose Amy Winehouse second album ''Back to Black'' to be my shower backgroundmusic.

That's the kind of record people will talk about twenty years from now, a non-skip album. The sound of that album takes you back in time and is modern at the same time. A classic @ release, but it's still a shame what happend to Amy. I hope she cleans up for a third one, would be nice..

I'm stoked about this new pick-up I added to my collection today.
It's (the dutch favorite Nike model) a Nike air max '90 in a ''Mint'' colorway and it's a wmns (womens) release, obvious the biggest wmns size for me.
The use of different materials on this shoe is real nice and the mix of white, grey, black & mint as colorway is an instant classic. I just sniffed them a bit and they smell just as fresh as they look. I'm stoked y'all..

The Jordan Spacejams XI retro released two weeks ago and had sneakerheads going a little crazy. In my opinion they did a great job with this retro of an already classic shoe. Even the packaging is bananas, but buying 42 pairs of spacejams!??

First and foremost, let me say Happy New Year to y'all!

Another year has passed and so did another decade.
Many memories have been stored on to the hard-drive of your brain over the last ten years. I still remember how anxious people were when we approached the millenium, or the 9/11 attacks, that happened ten years ago (9/11 in 2001 obviously). It's crazy how time flies.

For the world it's the decade of Obama, Bin Laden, Iphone, MJ, financial crisis, Bush, Harry Potter, Global warming, Tsunami, Saddam Hussian, Pope John Paul II, Youtube, Pim Fortuin, Theo van Gogh,the Euro & 'no smoking' rule etc..

For me personal it's the decade of a new home, my marriage, my dad, new jobs, friends, hiphop, trips, sneakers, music, blogging, PS3, good movies, bad movies, Dacia logan, Saba & Luna and alot more..

It wasn't always an easy ride the last ten years, but it's only my third decade on this planet so my sheet is still more then oke. We all have our own trials and tribulations we have to face in this live so seize the day, the next decade is on our doorstep.

I haven't always been a big candy fan, but when it comes to these little fruity suckers I defintely am. They have been around for a couple of decades (1962) and honestly I can't remember any sweets that tasted better then these. A bag contains orange and lemon flavours, with a nice fruit filling. Luckily I live near the german border so I can enjoy these treats, because you can only buy them there. Nimm2 is german for ''take two''. So guess what i'm gonna do now..

There's a package on it's way right now and it should arrive tomorrow in the afternoon.
It came from Hong Kong to Amsterdam in two days then it stayed in customs for two weeks and now finally it has almost reached it's destination.
